Donations For Animal Rescue Groups – Want to support animal shelters in your area, but don’t know what to do? This list outlines the 12 most needed donations that animal shelters and rescues almost always accept.
Animal shelters and rescue groups are among the hardest-working organizations in the country, and many of these facilities do not receive regular funding from the government. More than half are run on donations alone, both from the public and large companies. If you’re a fur baby lover like me, you’re always looking for ways to give back to the people who keep these animals safe and healthy while they wait for their new families.

Donations For Animal Rescue Groups
I’ve been volunteering at my local SPCA for quite some time, and I’ve noticed that we have a lot of community members who regularly ask us what we need. It occurred to me that people wanted to help, but didn’t know how, and more importantly, didn’t know what supplies animal shelters typically use. So I’ve put together a list of 12 items that your local shelter or rescue group would really appreciate.
Ontario County Humane Society, Happy Tails Animal Shelter
Most animal shelters will accept your used items, such as dog beds, kennels, dog houses, sheets, and cat clothes and furniture, but before you put it all in your car, give them a call to be sure.
It’s a good idea to check out their Amazon Wish List if they have one. There may be items in your home that your pet has never used or liked.
And if you end up doing a deep clean, check out this post for more ideas about other places you can donate, like nursing homes, senior centers, homeless shelters, and more. Donations always make a difference and especially now! We depend on your monetary and material donations to continue to care for the many animals that come to us each year. All donations are tax deductible and can be given in several ways:
Send a check or stop by our shelter to make a monetary donation. You can donate when you adopt one of our wonderful pets if you are looking for a way to help more shelter pets. Scroll down to see other online giving options.

To keep more pets at home with their families, we have developed a fund to help Orange County residents with non-routine and emergency vet costs. In general, we see many distressed pets surrendered at our shelters because the owners did not properly care for the pets when they needed medical attention.

These funds are available to Orange County residents based on their need and ability to meet income criteria. This support requires collaboration with a local veterinarian or specialist, and may cover all or part of the cost of treatment, such as: skin infections and other skin problems. , dental problems, minor operations, etc. This fund does not cover routine vet visits and vaccinations. This fund does not cover emergencies and emergency situations that require immediate attention. Funds will be given directly to veterinarians and animal clinics or hospitals. These funds are available through generous donations.
As long as adequate funding is available, this program is available to assist eligible Orange County residents. This program helps people look after their pets. This is of great benefit to pets, pets and Orange County Animal Services. To make a donation, visit our GoFundMe page.

Generous community members brought many items to the shelter to help pets in need. Individuals, school groups, service groups, birthday parties, etc. collect these necessary items. Effective Animal Shelter Fundraising Ideas
If you want to shop locally and donate items, All Pets Considered has a donation list where you can purchase items and they will be sent to the shelter! You can visit the link or scan the QR code below to access our APC Wish List! What does that mean? This means we operate entirely on charitable donations. From the food our dogs eat, to the toys we use for play and rehabilitation, to the veterinary care we provide our dogs, to the lights that come on in the kennels, we rely on the generosity of our incredible supporters. Due to the nature of the animals we rescue, those that are severely malnourished, neglected and abused, often require very high and expensive standards. But our commitment to saving dogs that no one else will means we must continually ask for help from our supporters.
Monetary donations help pay our expenses such as animal care, facility services, etc. All money donated is used to care for the animals and maintain the facilities.
We always need toys, beds, cleaning supplies, food… By donating the following items, we can use the money we receive for other things.
