I had a great time in Oxford! The teachers were great and I learned a lot during the course. I attended an English course where I made friends from all over the world. The whole experience gave me an insight into what it would be like to study at the University of Oxford.

I had such an amazing time at ORA! It made me a more confident person and it was a great opportunity to meet so many people from all over the world!
The support from the counselors was great, I felt comfortable talking to them, they were very friendly and welcoming.
I would 100% recommend this experience to anyone who has the chance to do it, I will remember it forever and keep in touch with all the friends I made there!
A talent show performed by students of course! It was a great laugh and there was a lot of talent!
Colegio Nordico Internacional
I went to Oxford not sure what to expect from the program…everything seemed too good to be true…all the ads I saw and all the reviews I read weren’t enough to paint a picture. What it was like to spend 2 weeks in Oxford studying what I love with people from all over the world. But as soon as I reached my college people outside the campus were ready to help me!! It was unreal!! I couldn’t ask for a better staff, teachers, program and even food!
Once I read the reviews, I wondered if it was worth it or not… After the experience, my only regret is that I didn’t spend more time there! As soon as I left college I realized how precious all the moments I spent there were… So my advice to you is to make the most of every moment and make friends with everyone without fear. You probably can! I still talk to people from Italy, Germany, Ireland and Brazil.
A typical English breakfast for sure! After those 2 weeks in Oxford I couldn’t help but think of those “hash browns” even though I wasn’t used to it.
The two weeks I spent at Oxford Royal Academy were without a doubt the best two weeks of my summer. The course was, as expected, academically stimulating and included cultural experiences that I would not have been able to enjoy had I not participated. The classes were taught by exceptional teachers and gave me the opportunity to explore areas of academia that were not traditionally part of the high school curriculum, but that interested me. Meeting new people allowed me to broaden my worldview and make some friends. We were given the freedom to explore the city as we wished, but still felt safe and looked after at all times. Visiting colleges, tourist attractions and museums provided us with plenty to do in our free time. Optional events take place each day, from subject-specific discussions to sporting activities, social events, debate and advice on university applications. Overall, the course was a well-rounded academic and cultural experience and something I highly recommend.

I went to Oxford expecting what a typical summer course would be like, but was pleasantly surprised by how much the program exceeded my expectations. The academic side of the program was very stimulating and the classes were small and very interactive. The teachers listened to our ideas and opinions and gave us valuable advice. We had plenty of freedom to explore Oxford and plenty of activities to keep us busy if we wanted to stay on campus. The staff were all very friendly and willing to help with anything we needed. I got a lot of information about UK universities which was very helpful when it came time to apply to universities. I would recommend this program to anyone looking for a stimulating environment to spend the summer.
I chose this program because it offered a great opportunity: I could live and study at a world-renowned university.
I chose the “Broadening Horizons” course for a two-week summer camp. This option gave me many classes to choose from, which will give me different perspectives and help me in future college choices. It was a great choice to travel, visit a new city and meet wonderful people from many countries.
What did your program provider (or university) help you with and what did you have to organize on your own?

The program providers were very helpful. They are always available to answer any of my questions and help me with any changes I want to make through live chat on the ORA website. Moreover, they constantly send me tasks to fill in the forum (medical form, food forms…).
They also helped me with visa assistance by sending a letter. They also provided bus transfer to take the students from the airport to their respective campuses.
Of course this program is a summer camp where you will participate in many activities, meet many people, travel and visit a new city. However, you should know that this is a lot of work. There are assignments to do, homework, essays, presentations…
You will be graded at the end of summer camp for all your work. So, if you are like me and want to make sure you get good scores, you need to study hard.

That said, don’t worry too much about it: you’ll still have plenty of time to enjoy and enjoy the summer of your life.
So, on an average day, you would have registration in the morning, followed by breakfast, two morning courses (for Broadening Horizons) separated by a break. Then you will have a lunch break where you can go into town for food.
Then, in a few days there will be an afternoon workshop, if not, you will have some planned activities (lacing, city tour, treasure hunt, check out the botanical garden…) followed by registration and dinner on campus. At night, there will be some activities like TED talks, talent shows (these were some of the activities I prepared when I was at camp, but they may vary by campus/year)…
Going into your experience abroad, what was your biggest fear and how did you overcome it? How have your views changed on this topic?

Overall, I was very excited about this trip. But being a solo traveler for the first time, I couldn’t ignore the fear of being away from home and out of my comfort zone. For two weeks I had to live with complete strangers from different cultures.
At the end of the day, people are attracted to your vibe. Once I arrived, it was very easy to make friends, no one wanted to be alone, everyone was looking to build new friendships, and the friendly group made the whole trip smooth.
Patrick currently works as the Admissions Executive for Oxford Royal Academy. He is responsible for contacting potential clients and setting up reservations in the company’s academic program. During the summer, he serves as the on-site Assistant Program Director, responsible for maintaining the pastoral staff and cultural enrichment aspects of the Balliol College campus.
My best travel memories are usually associated with choir tours, including trips to America’s East Coast, Beijing, Langzhou, and much of Europe. My favorite travel memory is traveling around Australia as a 2-year-old following my dad filming wildlife documentaries for Channel 4.

I learned more about global cultures and traditions, I improved my French and got better at ironing shirts (to meet high profile parents!).
