Nyu Law Health Insurance – National Health Insurance Company – Daman, a leading provider of health insurance in the UAE, has partnered with NYU Abu Dhabi’s Public Health Research Center (PHRC) () to collaborate on the wider promotion and support of the UAE Healthy Futures Study.

The UAE Healthy Future Study is the first study aimed at building a healthier future for the UAE. Investigators from NYU Langone Medical Center worked with local partners in Abu Dhabi to conduct this long-term study to understand why obesity, diabetes and heart disease are common in the UAE. To achieve this, the study sought to recruit 20,000 UAE nationals aged between 18-40 years. To date, more than 4,000 participants have registered to take part in the study.

With the signing of this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the formal framework for cooperation was agreed upon by both sides. Daman will support learning recruitment efforts by displaying information about Learning at Thiqa branches and service points. In addition, staff from the study will be present at Daman locations and ActiveLife events to promote the study and recruit willing volunteers.

Thiqa, managed by Daman on behalf of the Government of Abu Dhabi, provides healthcare services to UAE nationals in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. This partnership ensures that the research message reaches its target audience.

We offer universal and hassle-free medical services at no or very low cost to all students, regardless of insurance coverage. Students are assigned to a primary care medical team while they are in and may visit them to manage their health care needs. Nyu Langone Health Adds Three New Practices To Ambulatory Care Network

Requires all students enrolled in degree-granting programs to maintain health insurance coverage. Most students are automatically enrolled and charged premiums for sponsored student health insurance as part of their course registration process.

Students with alternative health insurance coverage that meets the University’s minimum health insurance standards may waive the sponsored student health insurance plan entirely.

Grossman, MD, dean of the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and CEO of NYU Langone Health, told the Class of 2023 to enjoy the joys of medicine, adding, “Each of you will make a significant contribution to health of our world. You will find a purpose in the field of your choice. There is nothing more noble than being responsible for the health or welfare of another person.”

In her keynote, NYU president-to-be Linda G. Mills shared with graduates the most important lessons she learned from her late father, a cardiologist.

“A timeless message of rigor, dedication, listening, paying attention, and perhaps most important of all, action rather than inaction; These lessons are even more urgent in the post-COVID world,” Mills told them. “With your incredible training, your healing superpowers, and your refined emotional intelligence, you are ready to take on the challenge of doing more than mending broken bones.”

Mills was appointed NYU’s 17th president in February by a unanimous vote of the Board of Trustees; he began his term in July. Currently NYU’s vice chancellor and senior vice chancellor for global programs and university life, Mills is also the Lisa Ellen Goldberg Professor of Social Work, Public Policy, and Law, and executive director of NYU’s Center for Violence and Recovery.

The Class of 2023 enters the NYU Grossman School of Medicine one year after the school announced it will offer Full Scholarships to all current and future students in the MD degree program. During his time at NYU Grossman School of Medicine, the school also introduced a need-based Debt-Free Scholarship to meet students’ financial needs outside of tuition costs.
