Masters In Cyber Security Scholarships – Cybersecurity is a scientific program where you learn to understand how the fundamentals of security work and their limitations (including the mathematics of cryptography). Based on this, you gain the knowledge needed to design and develop new algorithms/approaches for specific cyber threats and critically assess their limitations. Masters In Cyber Security Scholarships
The program equips graduates with the skills needed to develop, implement and manage cybersecurity concepts. Students will not only gain knowledge of the most important cyber security principles and techniques (as well as techniques commonly used by hackers), but will also be trained to apply this knowledge in the real world. After graduation, students will be able to develop new approaches and methods for protecting IT systems and critical infrastructure.
Msc Applied Cyber Security
This approach and method will be appropriate to the current situation and will take into account different aspects of the organization and legal framework. In addition, they will be qualified to implement cybersecurity strategies, contribute to the further development of subject areas, and take on many of the complex challenges facing the industry and research community today.
The master’s program consists of four semesters with 30 credits each. The curriculum is divided into basic and specialized studies, which are supplemented by general studies, industrial training and master’s theses. The Basic Study (Basics of Cyber Security) is a compulsory module and consists of 22 credits. The specific studies are divided into two compulsory elective modules (Cyber Security Methods and Computer Science) and a research project consisting of 54 credits. As part of the mandatory elective modules, students must choose at least 28 credits from “Cyber Security Methods” and at least 12 credits from “Computer Science”.
The internship offers students the opportunity to apply the knowledge and methods acquired in the courses in an industrial environment. It serves to link practical experience with research and teaching.
Apart from some degree programs, the education offered by BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is free of charge. However, the university charges a semester fee of around 135 EUR per semester. It covers the costs of the student service organization (Studentenwerk) and the Student Council (StuRa).

Studies at BTU are mostly free (tuition). Because of this, there are only limited scholarship opportunities for international students. Admission requirements include a first degree (at least a bachelor’s degree) or equivalent in computer science or a closely related program (e.g. cyber security, applied mathematics, artificial intelligence, data science, electrical engineering) with a strong focus on scientific computer science. The content of computer science and theoretical, applied and technical mathematics study courses should be comparable to the undergraduate computer science program offered by BTU.
Applicants with higher education entry qualifications from Australia, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, Great Britain incl. Northern Ireland or the United States do not require a separate proof of English proficiency. Applicants who have obtained an English-medium degree in Germany or one of the countries mentioned above are also exempt from submitting an official English language certificate.

Applicants who have obtained a higher education entrance qualification in Germany or a German school abroad can also submit a higher education entrance qualification certificate that proves English language knowledge at least at the B2 level of the European Language Guidelines (CEFR). This proof can be provided, for example, by presenting an A-level certificate with appropriate school approval or a document issued by the Ministry of Education of the relevant federal state. This certificate must confirm that the required level of English (minimum B2/CEFR) has been achieved.
There are job opportunities in the city and on campus. However, don’t go to Germany expecting to be able to finance all your studies by working. The study load is heavy and it is not always easy to find a part-time job. Students from non-European countries are allowed to work 120 full days or 240 half days per year. The 120-day rule is not affected by mandatory internships or student support jobs at the university. Students from EU member states, the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland can work without restrictions during their studies in Germany.
