Cmu Transfer Scholarships – A scholarship is a cash award awarded primarily on the basis of academic achievement. Some scholarships may also consider school and community activities, leadership skills or other criteria.

Awards must be applied for and awarded in the program areas of music, business, science, athletics, and Academic Merit Awards, which are based on a short essay that answers questions about the vision and mission of the program.

Applications for the following are open until February 28th. Please refer to the criteria for each award or scholarship to be eligible.

Credit For Prior Learning

For winter semester scholarship holders, applications are required by November 30th. Fall semester recipients must apply by May 31.

Matches scholarship offers! Any applicant who is admitted with proof of a scholarship offer from another institution will be offered a scholarship. The values may not match exactly (each offer is matched on a case-by-case basis), but applicants who apply after the February 28 scholarship deadline have the opportunity to receive scholarship funds. The Rita Gulstad Transfer Scholarship, available starting in January, is one of the largest scholarships provided by private institutions for community college transfer students, according to CMU President Roger Drake. Applications are now being accepted for both January and Fall 2018.

The scholarship honors long-time CMU Provost Dr. Rita Gulstad, who was instrumental in establishing and building partnerships with all of Missouri’s community colleges and many others.

“The Gulstad Transfer Scholarship provides students pursuing an associate’s degree at a partner institution with a path to a great education and a good life,” Drake said. “The scholarship is named to honor an outstanding CMU educator who has done so much to provide community college students with college-completion opportunities.”

Central awards qualified community college scholarships valued at $16,000 per year, totaling $48,000 over six semesters, to deserving students selected annually.

Eligible candidates must be currently enrolled at one of CMU’s partner community colleges, be a sophomore in expected community college graduation status, and have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or better on a 4.0 scale .

Scholarships For College Of Business Administration Students

Grants do not require repayment and are funded by either the federal or state government or Carnegie Mellon. They are available to students who apply for financial aid and demonstrate financial need.

Students who receive a Carnegie Mellon Undergraduate Grant may be eligible for a named endowed scholarship. These scholarships are awarded by donors who are committed to supporting Carnegie Mellon and its students. Some donors are alumni who were themselves recipients of student aid. Scholarships are offered to students who meet certain qualifications specified by the donor.

Third-party organizations such as ROTC or nonprofit organizations may also offer scholarships. Outside of scholarships, your financial support will not change unless the scholarship plus your state support exceeds your financial need or your total financial aid plus scholarship exceeds our cost of attendance.

Part-time degree programs allow students to earn a salary without having to leave campus. On-campus job opportunities are plentiful, and on-campus employers are often flexible when it comes to their student employee needs.

The Federal Direct Student Loan is the most commonly used student loan. A student can qualify for a need-based subsidized loan, but all students can borrow up to $5,500 for their first year.

The Federal Direct PLUS Loan is a financing option for parents of undergraduate students. The PLUS loan is only available to creditworthy borrowers.
