The majority of ASU students receive financial aid. in the fall of 2020, 89% of ASU students received some form of financial aid.
One-third of all ASU students in 2020 received a Pell Grant, and in the fall of 2021, 80% of all freshmen who are Arizona residents received one of ASU’s New American Universities scholarships.

The state of Arizona offers a fairly broad set of eligibility requirements for its in-state students. This means you must meet some basic criteria to qualify for financial aid.
To qualify for federal student financial aid in Arizona, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent. You must also be admitted to a university degree program and enrolled in that program.
To be eligible for student aid, you must be enrolled at least half-time and working toward a degree or associate degree. If you are only enrolled in a certificate program, you will not be eligible for federal student aid. This includes loans.
In addition, you must be able to demonstrate financial need. You will be able to do this using the information you will include on your FAFSA application. In addition, it should be noted that students can obtain many loans and scholarships without a clear financial need.

You must also be a U.S. citizen, a U.S. citizen. or are not a U.S. citizen. who qualify with a valid Social Security Number (SSN).
Finally, you must maintain satisfactory academic progress to earn your college degree—and you must attend all the classes you are registered for. If you miss some classes, your aid may be reduced as part of the aid adjustment.
Keep in mind that the FAFSA is not required for every financial opportunity at ASU. However, if you want to be considered for Campus-based funds, institutional grants, Federal Pell Grants and Direct Loans, the FAFSA is required.
