To keep more pets in their homes with their families, we’ve created a fund that can help Orange County residents with unusual and emergency veterinary expenses. Overall, we see many heartbreaking pets being surrendered to our shelter because the owners cannot afford to properly care for their pets when they need medical attention.
This fund is available to Orange County residents based on their need and ability to meet income criteria. This assistance requires cooperation with local veterinarians or specialists and can cover all or part of medical expenses for problems such as: skin infections and other skin problems, dental problems, minor surgeries, etc. This fund does not cover regular vet visits and vaccinations. This fund does not cover urgent emergencies that require immediate assistance. Funds will be given directly to veterinarians and veterinary clinics or hospitals. These funds are made available through generous donations.
Maryland Spca: Adopt
As long as adequate funding is available, this program is here to help qualified Orange County residents. This program helps people keep their pets. It is very helpful for pets, pet owners and Orange County Animal Services. To donate, visit our GoFundMe page.
We accept and appreciate monetary donations of any value. Donations for specific projects can be made through the Orange County Community Giving Fund. You can donate online by credit card or direct bank deposit, or simply mail a check. These animal service projects currently include, but are not limited to:
Please call 919-942-7387 and ask to speak with the Director of Animal Services about donating to one of these projects.
If you would like to make a monetary donation in memory of a loved one or pet, simply provide this information when making your donation. Please note: If you would like the receipt to be sent to a family member, you will need to provide the family member’s name and address.
Donation Wish List
*Please note that we cannot send donation receipts for items purchased on Amazon and shipped to our facility. Making a donation to Guilford County Animal Services (GCAS) is one of the easiest things you can do to save a life and prevent pet homelessness.
Your donation to the Have-A-Heart Foundation goes directly to help treat the heartworm positive dogs currently in the care of GCAS. The goal of the Have-A-Heart Foundation is to give every heartworm-positive dog the opportunity to enjoy a second chance at a happy, loving life.
GCAS does not turn against rescuing heartworm positive dogs, despite the high cost of treating this painful and preventable parasite. At any given time, we care for approximately 30 heartworm positive dogs, with treatment costs ranging from $500 to $800 per dog.
Donate to the Have-A-Heart Foundation and the proceeds will go directly to the rehabilitation of dogs suffering from this painful and deadly disease.

Guilford County is a local government, and as a political subdivision of the state of North Carolina, the organization is eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions.
Your contribution will be used for public purposes only to support the Have-A-Heart Fund of Guilford County Animal Services and is therefore tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
Generous community members bring many items to the shelter to help pets in need. Individuals, school groups, service groups, birthday parties, etc. collect these much needed items. To better help the animals, we have listed the items that we regularly accept as donations. At certain times of the year we will ask for help if certain areas (such as boxes, bedding, etc.)
The items we need most right now: Dog treats! Mildly aromatic species that are perfect for training and enrichment.

Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League
Wow! What a wonderful surprise! We are forever in awe of the compassionate people who support us in the Cape May area. These beautiful and kind ladies are featured with donations collected and our beloved shelter mascots Mason (our cat) and Scotty (our dog). Thank you ladies for being amazing! As throughout the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Royal Oak Animal Shelter remains open by appointment to reunite families with missing animals, meet and pick up approved foster parents and adopters, and accept donations. Staff will be in the building every day, as always, taking care of the animals. If no one answers your call, we recommend leaving a message or contacting us at roas@. Email is monitored daily whether we are at the shelter or not; replies are usually sent the same day.
Animals found at ROAS are posted on Pawboost.com. To inquire about pets listed on PawBoost, please use the email link on the PawBoost list. To inquire about adoptable animals or to apply for those posted on AdoptAPet, please use the email link on the individual animal list. Unless otherwise noted in the listings, please email about these animals for the fastest response.
As we are currently operating at full capacity, we will be focusing on emergency adoptions, including animals requiring emergency care due to owner incapacity/hospitalization, etc. Due to our limited space and to ensure we are able to assist in such emergencies, we will not be doing this. accept volunteer teaching for the foreseeable future. We encourage people in less than dire circumstances to seek out friends, family, foster homes, pet assistance programs, or private rescues. For recommendations on specific housing exchange options, please email us at roas@.
We understand that this does not anticipate all issues that may arise. We will continue to actively engage and work with individuals and issues on a case-by-case basis as appropriate. Again, for assistance with animal related questions or concerns, please email roas@. We hope to help.
