Allstate Insurance Rockford Il – Allstate Arena (correct spelling: Allstate | arena) is a multi-purpose arena in Rosemont, Cook County, Illinois, United States. The arena is used by Chicago sports teams and is located approximately 30 miles north of O’Hare International Airport, Chicago’s largest airport. About 150 events are held in the building every year. The arena is currently home to the Chicago Bulls of the American Hockey League (AHL).
After construction began in 1977, the building was completed in 1980 and was intended to be the home arena for the Chicago Cougars (WHA) and named O’Hare Sports Arena. Due to financial difficulties, the owners of the Cougars were no longer able to secure financing for construction. The Rosemont community bought the land with bonds and long-term leases (Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, MFG International or Araserv) and built Rosemont Horizon on it.
